What do NPC members do?
The NPC is the highest decision making body between national conventions and acts as DSA’s Board of Directors. Please see a description of NPC member responsibilities here.
How will the NPC be elected?
Delegates will vote through preferential ballot at the 2021 DSA National Convention. The DSA Constitution requires that no more than eight NPC members shall be men, and that at least five seats be reserved for people of color.
How can members learn about NPC candidates?
All NPC Candidates were required to fill out the candidate questionnaire. You can find the candidates’ answers here.

When will the national candidate forums be held, and where will the video be available?
DSA will hold at least one national candidate forum or debate via Zoom no later than Friday, July 16th, 2021. The forum will be recorded, and videos will be posted on the Discussion Board, emailed to everyone who RSVPd, and emailed to all delegates.
When was the deadline for NPC candidate nominations?
The deadline to submit NPC questionnaires was June 16th, 2021. The deadline to submit a nomination resolution was June 23, 2021.
Who is eligible to run for the National Political Committee?
Any DSA member in good standing could be nominated as a candidate for the NPC elections through a nomination resolution passed by a majority vote of either: (1) any chapter or OC; or (2) a majority of vote of the NPC.
How could members be nominated for NPC?

Members who wished to run for NPC were required to fill out a candidate questionnaire by June 16, 2021. Nomination resolutions could be uploaded with their questionnaire or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than June 23, 2021.
